Mediation is a flexible and confidential process whereby parties voluntarily seek to reach an agreement with the assistance of a neutral and impartial third party who has no authority to impose a solution on the parties.
Despite an increase in the use and popularity of this alternative form of dispute resolution in jurisdictions near to us, mediation is still largely unknown and underused among us.
The Mediation Committee of the Commercial Arbitration Centre, created to promote activities around mediation, aims to contribute to promotion, the demystification of common misconceptions about what mediation is or how it works, and the increased use of this alternative form of dispute resolution, whose advantages include speed and efficiency, the possibility of preserving relations between the parties and a high success rate.
The activities to be undertaken by the Mediation Committee are aimed at all those who want to learn more about mediation, including potential users of mediation.
