The Diversity Committee aims to promote and defend a culture of gender equality, inclusion and diversity in the global activity carried out by the Arbitration Centre, both as an entity that appoints arbitrators under the terms foreseen in its Rules, and as an entity that organises events to discuss and promote arbitration, in order to ensure compliance with gender non-discrimination and thus contribute to the creation of a diverse, equitable and inclusive arbitration community in Portugal.
In pursuit of this goal, the Diversity Committee is committed to promoting best practices in this field and to recommending to the Arbitration Centre Council various initiatives that promote gender diversity, inclusion and equality, including self-regulatory measures that can successfully reduce the inequalities and gender gap still evident in the arbitration area.
